View Full Version : My 2007 Triumph Daytona 675

Hey guys,

After wrecking my first D675, I was left wanting another. After searching for a while, I decided on what I wanted.

Thread here:

Here's the pics of the bike as was represented when it was being sold:

Now... to put this as delicately as possible, the bike wasn't in near the shape the pictures represented when I received it. The fairings had deep scratches in them... it honestly looked like the bike had been dropped and slid at very low speeds. In addition, there were many small little things just not up to my standards (the headlights, wiring, body condition, etc).

So... I set about making the bike my own.

Here it is sitting in my driveway shortly after purchase:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/308962_2296886702953_1272672326_2738206_813595_n.j pg

I played around with it for a while, adding parts here, subtracting there, until finally the bike ended up looking like this in my garage:

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/314935_2296888342994_1272672326_2738211_3740481_n. jpg

All the fairings were out to paint! I decided that all black was just overkill, and some contrast was needed. I traded my jet black tank for a graphite one, and then sent the rest of the fairings out for paint. I also sold the jet black Skidmarx rear hugger, and purchased a carbon fiber unit to complement my carbon fiber front fender.

It is very important to note that I wanted the bike to bit a bit better mannered as I intended to ride it mostly on the street. With the exhaust that was on there, ear plugs were a necessity, and it was just overall uncomfy. I worked out a trade with a member of the forum for his full Leo Vince SBK exhaust system, and that was that.

After a couple weeks, all my parts started coming back from paint and the new exhaust showed up.

Here's what it was looking like:

Much happier with the bike and it now fits me!

Anyway, here's a list of what I've done to the bike, obviously deleting or modifying parts off the original list to make way for my revisions:

-Triumph Genuine Accessories Speed Triple Footrest Mountings
-Leo Vince SBK Carbon Fiber Full Exhaust
-British Customs Style Plate Mount (made by my roommate)
-Proton Flush Mount Turn Signals
-White SMD 80mm Halo Kit
-White LED Running Lights
-LED Flasher Relay
-PowerBronze Aero Windscreen
-Bestem USA Carbon Fiber Front Fender
-Skidmarx Carbon Fiber Rear Hugger
-Clear Alternatives Smoked Integrated Sequential Taillight
-Pazzo Racing Preload Adjusters
-Gilles Tooling Chain Adjusters
-Tech Spec Grip Pads
-Keiti Windscreen Screw Kit
-Gold Anodized Top Yoke Nut (replacement as original was badly scarred)
-Passenger Rearsets (Powdercoated Black)
-Black Rear Cowl
-Black Solo Seat Cowl
-R&G Bar Ends
-R&G Cotton Reel Paddock Stand Bobbins
-Heat Wrapped and Sealed Exhaust
-Replacement Clutch Adjustment Stay
-Polished Headlight Housings
-Traded Jet Black Tank for Graphite Tank
-Repainted Front Cowl/Side Fairings/Rear Cowl Graphite - No Emblems

As you can tell from the list, I made the bike much more mine, and also added back in the function of being able to switch out the rear solo seat cowl for a seat and pegs and ride two-up.

Here's some pictures of the current product. I still have a few things left to do...

Overall I'm so much happier with the bike now than when I purchased it. Every single thing I've done to it has made it fit my purpose and style more, and it's really a joy to ride!

Hope y'all enjoy.

sweet bike man! you have awesome taste, and some serious fabbing skills. Is it safe to say your somewhat of a perfectionist?

07-24-2012, 11:18 PM
I'm an OCD perfectionist with a photographic memory. Lends itself great to certain aspects of my life, horribly to others.

07-25-2012, 07:47 AM
Thats a sick looking bike.

Only critisism is i liked the way the exhaust looked originaly.

07-25-2012, 09:54 AM
I liked the way it looked as well, it was just too damn loud to ride on the street.

07-25-2012, 10:34 AM
yea figuired as much, looked like a open pipe lol

07-25-2012, 04:52 PM
It actually functioned as a megaphone, so it amplified the volume of the exhaust. RR heard it in person back then. Loud as fuck.
