View Full Version : Project: G37S Coupe

02-12-2012, 11:21 AM
The last time I was home, I did a bunch of work to my dad's G37S Coupe for him. He amassed quite a few parts in anticipation of me coming. Here's the list of changes:

*New black OEM grill to replace the chrome one
*Painted headlight housings black and smoked the amber reflectors
*Smoked the taillights
*Added a sportier OEM spoiler to replace the chrome strip on the back (not pictured)
*Stillen Gen 3 Long Tube intakes
*Stillen Short Throw Shifter
*Stillen headers, heatwrapped and sealed (of course)
*Stillen high flow catalytic converters (not pictured)
*Stillen catback exhaust
*UpRev Osiris ROM reflash

On to the pics:

Interior ripped apart to install the shifter.

Had to take the center console mostly all the way apart to get to the bolts holding the shifter assembly in.

Stillen shifter is the silver one. Moves the shift knob down a bit in the interior and also moves the fulcrum. Reduced the shift throw and cleaned up the shifts very nicely. Much more precise.

Next up for it are a debadge of the rear leaving just the Mt Fuji emblem, a Motordyne intake plenum, 6000K headlight bulbs, adjusting the clutch a bit, and a retune.

How does the G37 move in comparison to your G35?

nice upgrades, btw

Thanks man! It's a different kind of power. Mine is more brutal and in your face. His, even after mods, is much more refined and "elegant" for lack of a better term. You don't notice near as much that you're rocketing upward on the speedo, yet you are. His definitely is quicker than mine... or so I believe.

I guess that's the best way I can explain it.

Nice work. Car looks good.

Thanks Jake. I'm heading home next month and doing a few more mods to the car and helping the dad get it tuned.

Cool. Keep us updated. It makes me miss my Z a little bit.

But of course.

The bike will also be headed to the dyno in the next couple months... preferably before riding season starts back up, so I'll be posting some numbers on that as well.

Too many irons in the fire!

awesome, yeah I don't know a lot about the G37 or what they make with bolt ons but I'm sure they move out
