So after a long time, I finally got my undergraduate degree in physics. I'm going to be moving up to MA for an engineering job at a laser company. It's a weird feeling now that I get to start a real life living on my own.

I gotta stop at Matt's wing place one of the times I'm driving up or down from MA.

The amount of debt you have to put yourself in to get an education is ridiculous. If I had to do it again, going to a community college for 2 years first, and work hard for scholarships and then transfer to a 4-year college is the way to go. For anyone that's the least bit indecisive for what they want to do after they graduate highschool, going to a 4 year college initially is a waste of money.

Congrats guys. Although, working a job at an office sucks far worse than being in college.

Family is in Montvale NJ, and I'm moving up around the Worcester area in MA. What company do you work for?

Joining Technologies in East Granby. It would be a couple hours to drive from Woooster. Looks like you and I might become competitors.

My uncle got his PHD in genetic manipulation (I think) just before his 48th birthday. He would agree with everything in your post.

I thought the whole union thing was supposed to fix that...or just make it harder for profs to hire a phd student. Grats on the masters.

Holy shit, I could've sworn you were at NJIT the whole time I've known you. That's gotta be like 8 years, lol.

Congrats Sieg.

How did an undergrad take you 7 years?

Changed majors twice, didn't settle into physics until my 3rd year, and just didn't do well in math in the first couple years of college.

Once I stopped hanging out with people who I thought were "smart" but had no motivation for college, everything changed.
