    hdhomerun.jpg

HDhomerun for my house so i get intergrate tv to all the tv's and not run coax all over the place. Works pretty damn good even over wifi which i was surprised.
I played around last night with it and xbmc and got it working pretty good within xbmc. I get to channel switch and even have a pretty sick program guide w/ the ability to record programs. Which is nice because I was getting a bit annoyed not being able to find HD rips of some shows that air on basic tv. Hell's kitchen and such..

For the other tv's that have boxee's on them I currently just have files w/ the channels and have to select what channel I want to watch. So example Fox HD is labled foxhd.strm and i click on it if i want to watch that channel as if it was a movie file. Only annoyance is there is no program guide and i can't channel surf. Not a huge deal as I don't do that really all that much. Usually when I want to watch something it's for a specific show and i don't really change the channel.

    Home DVR replacement gizmoo

Well, it's not a DVR...it takes the COAX signal or (cablecard) if you get the higher end version and basicly streams each channel through your network over IP.

You can use a laptop, PC, boxee, HTPC, phone, rasberrypi w/ XBMC, appletv, roku, ect ect...

I have 0 cableboxes in my house.

If you want to record shows you need to have a DVR/PVR program running that would save the show/movie to a file to view later. I recorded america's got talant the other night to test and it worked pretty well. Saved the file to my tv directory on my nas and it was up there to watch now by everything else. The only thing is i gotta figuire out if i can make it so it saves each show to a certain folder. I think XBMC can do this, but I have to play around with it.

This sounds interesting as I am tired as fuck of paying for multiple boxes (which I need yet another) and I find myself wanting to stream through my PC or laptop frequently. Not to mention if we miss DVRing something I have to EZTV it and hook the laptop up via HDMI to the TV anyway. May as well sit a NAS on the network for dumping recordings.

I don't have the prime version which also has the ability to do DLNA and cablecard tuners, it does come with 3 tuners. So you can have 3 different streams going @ 1 time. Either 1 recording, 2 live feeds all on different boxes or 3 live feeds (3 different channels) going to 3 different devices.

So for example, lets say you have 3 boxes from your cable provider. You purchase the HDhomerun PRIME and get your cableprovider to give you a multistream cablecard (legally they have to unless in canada) The card goes into the back of the HDhomerun and that will then create a list of channels available from your subscription (it scans them).

You then go on a device that can access it, whether it's a TV with DLNA or a laptop with windows media player, doesn't matter. If you go the advance route and want to record stuff, you would setup a program on a computer to record the shows you want or if you want to watch live stuff you would load the file on a device.

You want to watch ESPN2 you go to the file directory where you have the channels on and select the ESPN2.strm file and the live channel starts in full HD quality w/ even surround sound (Dolby 5.1). You can have 3 different channels streaming, so your living room TV can have NBC going, your laptop can have CNN and you can be recording or watch another channel live. All this is done over Wifi or ethernet, while I do recommend ethernet as you'll see much faster channel loading times (no buffer) or a small 3-5 second buffer on wifi.

If you are paying 10-20bucks for an additional boxes it will pay for itself in a few months.

these .strm files are just instructions for the devices you use to tell it where the location of the hdhomerun is on your network.

So lets say the HDhomerun has a ip of 192.168.1.10, the file has that info in it w/ the amount of tuners you have and the channel.

so channel 2 (cbs for me) would says 192.168.1.10:10002 - Tuner 1 - Channel 2

    192.168.1.10:20004 - Tuner 2 - Channel 4

    ect ect...you get the idea.

1967 Georgia plate for my truck. In GA you can use an old plate on your old vehicle as long as the years match. Going to sand blast it down and repaint it. Its a high number plate (the fist set of numbers) which makes it more rare. In 1967, the higher the number, the smaller the county. It is also one of the few I have found that did not have extra holes in it from damage.

Leave it the way it is, it's better original.
